Silicon carbide (SiC) is one of the hardest minerals, second only to diamonds in this regard. Due to its exceptional strength, it is used in the production of brake discs, bulletproof vests, and spacecraft shields.
The material for the membranes is extracted from the North Sea bed, purified, and ground to a powdery form.
The membranes are produced similarly to other ceramic products. The ground mineral is plasticized and molded into the desired shape. The formed plates are fired at temperatures exceeding 2000°C to bind the silicon carbide (SiC) grains.
The secret to membrane production lies in the perfect mastery of the molding, firing, and coating processes. The membranes we use are structurally perfect: their pores are uniform, consistent, and free of inactive areas or local deviations from the permissible pore size. Membrane production takes place in one of two factories in Denmark and the USA.
Although there are also ceramic membranes made of other materials (Al2O3, ZrO2, TiO2) available on the market, their parameters cannot match the membranes used in Cempuro devices.
For users who want to immediately utilize the full power of Cempuro without incurring the full investment cost, we offer an installment plan. The device is delivered immediately after ordering, and the payment is spread over a set number of monthly payments. In many cases, it is possible to finance the purchase with the ongoing benefits of additional water production.
A traditional solution where the device is purchased directly from the manufacturer by the user or general contractor of a larger investment.
Cempuro also offers a very flexible purchasing option, where the device remains the manufacturer's property and the user only pays fees related to the amount of recycled water. Detailed terms of this service agreement are negotiated individually.
